Senate Adjourns Plenary To Honour Late Reps Member

On Tuesday, May 14, the Nigerian Senate adjourned plenary till Wednesday, May 15 in honour of the late House of Representatives member, Mr. Isa Dognoyaro.

Mr. Dogonyaro, who represented Babura/Garki Federal Constituency in Jigawa state, passed on Friday, 10th May.

Senate President Godswill Akpabio said the adjournment became necessary in line with the tradition of the National Assembly to pay last respects to its colleagues who passed on.

Before the adjournment, the Senate observed a minute silence in honour of the deceased.

Senator Akpabio condoled the House of Representatives, his family, constituents, and the government of Jigawa State over the occurrence.

He said Mr. Dogonyaro was until his demise, the Vice Chairman of the House Committee on HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria Control.
