Senate passes Electoral Offences Commission Bill, confirms INEC Commissioners

Nigerian Senate on Tuesday passed a bill establishing the Electoral Offences Commission in the country.

Senate also confirmed five Commissioners of the INEC out of the seven nominees appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Notable among the two nominees not confirmed by the Senate is Mrs. Lauretta Onochie who was to represent Delta state in the Commission.

Meanwhile the confirmation of Prof. Sani Muhammad Adam representing North-central region was put on hold for further investigation.
