The All Progressives Congress (APC) has sacked Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC – Borno South) as the Chief Whip of the Senate.

The APC appointed Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno (APC Borno North) as the new Chief Whip of the Senate.

The party’s decisions were contained in a letter addressed to the Senate President and read by Senator Godswill Akpabio during plenary.

The party said the action has become necessary following Ndume’s recent outburst against the APC administration by claiming on a live programme on Arise Television that the federal government is being run by thieves.

It also advised Ndume to resign from the APC.

The letter was signed by the National Chairman of APC, Abdullahi Ganduje and National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru.
