President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has announced minor changes in the Senate leadership positions in the National Assembly.
The action, according to Senator Akpabio, was based on the appointment of the former Deputy Senate Leader, Mr. David Umahi, as the Minister of Works by President Bola Tinubu.
At the commencement of plenary on Wednesday the Senate President Godswill Akpabio said the former Deputy Whip, Senator Lola Ashiru, representing Kwara South, has been appointed as the deputy senate leader while Senator Onyekachi Nwaebonyi, representing Ebonyi North Central Senatorial District, has been appointed as the deputy whip.
