Senegal President  Leads  ECOWAS Mediation Efforts With Alliance Of Sahel States

The Chairman Authority of Heads of States and Government, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed the President of Senegal, Bassirou Faye to lead the mediation efforts of ECOWAS with Burkina Faso, Niger, and Mali

The Nigerian Leader on acceptance of his renewed mandate after the 65th said , “with my renewed mandate I have the pleasure of appointing President Bassirou faye to lead ECOWAS mediation efforts with Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger Republic”.

 

President of ECOWAS Commission, Dr Omar Aliyu Touraye explained that President Faye openly indicated his acceptance to serve as facilitator for ECOWAS in its engagement with Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger.

 

“The Senegalese President indicated his acceptance to serve as facilitator for ECOWAS, in our engagement with the 3 ex-countries and this is in the spirit of engagement that our leaders believe should continue, we dont only share borders we share families, we share communities and the leaders are determined to keep our community together,ECOWAS is a community of people that must stay together ” Touray added.
