The National Coordinator of SERVICOM, Mrs. Nnnena Akajemeli has rated the Federal Capital Territory Administration high amongst other Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the quality of service delivery to residents of the Federal Capital Territory and Nigerians at large.
The SERVICOM Boss revealed this while delivering a lecture at the flag-off of FCT SERVICOM Day in Abuja, Nigeria.
She also praised the FCT Administration for building a strong culture of professionalism and excellence in its workforce.
Mrs. Akajemeli urged the Administration to ensure this SERVICOM initiative cascades down to all Secretariats, Department and Agencies(SDAs), in a bid to drive home the consciousness of excellent work ethics among all the staff of the Administration, which will promote a new attitudinal orientation.
While flagging off the exercise, the Permanent Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory Administration, Mr. Olusade Adesola explained that the event would go a long way to build a high sense of responsibility, consciousness and accountability in the psyche of the FCTA workforce.
He further remarked that the vision of the FCTA Administration which is ultimately to build a World Class City comparable to the best in the world can only be achieved by the commitment, doggedness and diligence of an excellent workforce, which by extension captures the core mandate of FCT SERVICOM.
The Permanent Secretary further reiterated that the commitment of the Administration to ensure that quality services are being delivered to all Nigerians who reside in the Federal Capital Territory and interact in one way or the other with the various SDAs.
Adesola said this can only be achieved if all staff of the Administration embrace the culture of due diligence and a high level of responsibility in the discharge of their official responsibilities.
According to him, ” in a bid to further strengthen efforts aimed at providing efficient service delivery in FCT, the administration has recently inaugurated the reinvigorated Ease of Doing Business Unit of the FCTA, which is expected to position the Federal Capital Territory as an investment-friendly city”.
Speaking further, he reassured the staff of the Administration that the FCTA Annual Staff Recognition and Award Ceremony has come to stay while enjoining them to work harder in order to benefit from the exercise.
The Director, Office of the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Udo Samuel Atang explained that the event further underscores the premium, the Administration places on the need for timely, quality and excellent service delivery being rendered by the staff of the Administration to residents of the territory.
Also speaking, the Director Human Resource Management, Mallam Mohammed Bashir commended the high turnout of Directors and management staff of the Administration.
He further remarked that this goes to show that the management cadre has keyed into the exercise.
He also used the occasion to disclosed that already the Administration has approved trainings for all staff of the various SDAs which will further boost staff capacity and competence in their assigned official responsivities.
On her part, the Acting Director, Reform Coordination and Service Improvement, Dr. Jumai Ahmadu enjoined all staff of the Administration to work assiduously to maintain the high pace of service delivery which they have been known for.
