Seun Kuti and Rema are among the African artists set to perform at the 2025 Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, which will be held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, across two weekends: April 11–13 and April 18–20.

Coachella, one of the world’s most renowned music festivals, continues to attract thousands of music fans each year. The 2025 edition will feature a diverse range of talent, and among the standout acts is Nigerian Afrobeat legend Seun Kuti. This will be his third appearance at the festival, where he will perform with his band Egypt 80. Kuti is the Nigerian artist with the most Coachella performances, having first made history in 2012 as the first Nigerian to perform at the festival.

Commenting on his return, Kuti expressed his excitement: “It’s always an honour to represent Afrobeat music on such a massive stage, and I’m excited to share my sound with even more people in 2025.”

Joining Kuti this year is Rema, a rising global star. Known for his record-breaking hits, Rema holds the distinction of having the most-streamed song and the highest-charting song by a Nigerian artist. His performance is highly anticipated, with fans eager to witness his rise on such a prestigious stage.

The 2025 Coachella lineup also includes over 100 artists, with headline performances from a range of diverse acts. American rock band Green Day will take the stage, with their 1991 album Kerplunk still one of the best-selling independent albums of all time, having sold over 4.5 million copies worldwide. Superstar Post Malone, known for holding the record of most RIAA diamond-certified songs, will headline the third day of the festival.

The Nigerian presence at Coachella has grown significantly over recent years. Past performers include Burna Boy, CKay, Spinall, Fireboy, and Tems, who performed in 2024 alongside Wizkid and Justin Bieber for a memorable rendition of their hit Essence (Remix).

Music fans across the globe are eagerly awaiting performances by Seun Kuti, Rema, and many other artists who continue to bring the rich sounds of African music to international audiences.
