The Executive Director of the NGO, Mr. Musa Umar, disclosed this to newsmen in Gusau yesterday, noting that the training was carried out in collaboration with the UKAid-funded NGO, International Alert.

He said that 120 teachers and public and Islamic Schools from four communities of Tsafe, Birnin-Magaji, Bilbis and Nasarawar-Godal were beneficiaries of the training.

According to him: “The communities were selected from Birin-Magaji and Tsafe local government areas. The activity is aimed at sensitising the school teachers to SGBV prevention and how they could champion campaigns against SGBV in the community. Part of the outcome of the sensitization is that the participants have expressed commitment to take the campaign to their various communities by utilizing networks and platforms they were exposed to.”

The sensitisation training is part of the activities of the NGO meant to promote stability, access to justice and accountability in Zamfara state at large.
