Sheroes Cup: Remo Stars, Abia Angels To Clash In Final

The stage is set for a dramatic showdown between Remo Stars Ladies and Abia Angels in the Sheroes Cup final, after both sides progressed on penalties in spectacular fashion.

In the first match, Naija Ratels played out a 1-1 draw with Remo Stars ladies in regulation time. Ferunmi Oduntade gave Ratels the lead with a stunning strike in the 21st minute, only for Cynthia Mega to pull Remo back into the game with a powerful header from a corner kick in the 60th minute.

In the shootout, the Remo Stars Ladies prevailed 5-4 on penalties with Ajubiga Chikodi missing the decisive penalty.

Bayelsa Queens 0-0 Abia Angels

In the other semifinal, Bayelsa Queens missed a 90th minute penalty by skipper Olapade as they were held to a goalless draw, only to be knocked out 4-3 on penalties by Abia Angels.

In the other classification games Heartland ended their campaign with an emphatic 4-2 victory against Honey Badgers.

A hat-trick by Faith Samson and another goal from Emmanuelle James helped them all the way. Joy Ikgayh and Owori Rachel scored consolation goals.

Nasarawa beat Nazareth Academy 3-0 as Amina Bello opened the scoring in the 12th minute, with Shobowale Olushola making it two in the 20th while Etim Favour wrapped it up before half time.

The competition will climax on Wednesday with the third place playoff and Finals as we will see a repeat of the group stage matches.

Naija Ratels will face Bayelsa United, before Abia Angels will do battle with the Remo Stars Ladies for the chance to be called champions of the 2024 Sheroes Cup.
