Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) head coach, Gbenga Ogunbote, has admitted Sunday’s Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) clash against Akwa United will be tough and has tasked his players to be ready for a gruelling game.

Continental spot-seeking Oluyole Warriors will aim to return to winning ways against the Promise Keepers who are battling to survive the drop.

Addressing during the team’s light work training at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo, the 3SC tactician spoke about the importance of a positive result to the team, hence the need for the players to give their best in the Matchday 29 encounter.

“We are here to get things back on track. If we get the result here, we will go up again and once we do that, we are not coming down again,” Ogunbote said.

“We will be facing a team that is desperately fighting to survive relegation, so you expect that they will come out on us, using every means.”

“I want you to see this match as a home match, play as if we are playing at home.We have a good pitch to play on. We are equally hungry to get a positive result,” he added.

Placed fifth going into this match against the Kennedy Boboye’s side, the Ibadan club must grind out a win against the 19th-placed Uyo-based club to brighten their chances of picking a continental ticket at the end of the season.
