The National Identity Management Commission, NIMC says all applicants must complete the National Identity Number (NIN) registration even if their Bank Verification Number (BVN) has generated a NIN.
This was contained in a tweet on the Commission’s official Twitter handle
The NIMC also invalidated Subscriber Identification Module (SIM) integration using BVN generated NIN, insisting that applicants must visit the NIMC offices for complete registration.
“If your NIN was generated due to the BVN record harmonization with the National Identity Database, you will not have access to the NIMC Mobile App and your NIN-SIM integration will be invalid,” it stated.
NIMC also insisted that all affected applicants must visit any of the NIMC enrolment centres to update their biometrics and validate their NIN.
“This implies that every applicant for National Identification Number must visit an NIMC office for his or her biometric/data capture, with the provision of every relevant personal information, even if they generate their NIN from any other sources including BVN,” the NIMC added.
