In a thought-provoking post on her X handle, Makinwa addressed the societal pressure that often associates happiness with marriage, pointing out that many single individuals are leading content, fulfilling lives and are not defined by their relationship status.

With the New Year 2025 fast approaching, Makinwa urged her followers to adopt a more progressive mindset, encouraging them to leave behind outdated stereotypes. She emphasized that many people in difficult or toxic relationships secretly long for the peace and independence that comes with being single.

“Let that rubbish behaviour of thinking that single people are miserable, lonely, or sad be left in 2024,” she wrote.

“There are so many people in horrible situations (whatever you call it) that secretly wish they were alone, so let people be.”

Her message was a call for more respect and understanding toward those who are single, urging people to focus on personal happiness rather than conforming to societal expectations
