Nigeria’s Minister of State for Works, Mr. Muhammad Bello Goronyo, has said the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway will redefine the country’s socio-economic landscape.
Mr. Goronyo made the statement during an inspection tour of the Sokoto section of the ongoing project.
He said the highway would boost economic activities by facilitating the seamless movement of goods, services, and people, while also providing thousands of direct and indirect jobs to tackle unemployment and poverty.
He further explained that the road would enhance security and connectivity across states, enabling safer and faster travel for Nigerians.

“This superhighway is not just for today; it is an investment in the future of our children and generations to come. Its completion will transform livelihoods, open new economic opportunities, and position Sokoto as a strategic hub for national and regional trade,” Mr. Goronyo said.
The Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of work so far.
He also expressed gratitude to security agencies and host communities for their cooperation, urging them to continue their support and take ownership of the project.
