Sokoto: Bello Goronyo Reemerges PDP State Chairman

2The People Democratic Party, PDP Sokoto State Chapter has reelected Bello Muhammad Goronyo, as well as other executives through concensus to lead the party’s affairs for the next four years.

 

Announcing the results, Chairman of the State Delegates’ from the party National Headquarters, Mukhtar Muhammad Lugga, described the process as free, fair and credible exercise.

 

” I testify that the election was conducted without any rancour, and in full compliance with the law,” he stated.

 

He said the Chairman and other 39 executives were duly elected by 2,567 delegates from 23 local government areas of the state.

 

Lugga expressed appreciation to the delegates for their support and being orderly while conducting the exercise.

 

In his remarks, the PDP leader and the former Governor of the state, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, commended the delegates, the Independent National Electoral Commission officials and party stakeholders towards their commitments in ensuring peaceful conduct of the exercise.

 

Senator Tambuwal further pledges more support to the newly elected executives to deliver on their mandate effectively.

 

I assure you that the PDP members will continue to work as one indivisible family to support your efforts and ensure the party’s victory in the 2027 general elections.

 

“The task ahead is critical, and we must continue striving to achieve our goals,” he noted.

 

Tambuwal who represent Sokoto South Senatorial Zone, said consensus process underscored the importance of unity and collective decision-making.

 

As we strive to entrench internal democracy in our dear country, Nigeria, it’s imperative to pay close attention to party politics.

 

“As we move forward, I urge the newly elected leadership to prioritize inclusivity, transparency, and accountability. 

 

“It is essential that all stakeholders are carried along in the decision-making process to ensure the party’s continued growth and success,” he charged.

 

Former Governor Tambuwal congratulated the new executives and  seeks divine guidance and intervention for them as they discharge their responsibilities.

 

In his acceptance speech, the new Chairman Bello Muhammad Goronyo, thanked the delegates, party stakeholders as well as all supporters for given them second chance to lead the party.

 

We are honoured by the confidence placed in us again, and we will work with all party members and stakeholders to ensure the party’s victory at all level across the state come 2027,” he said.

 

The new Chairman disclosed that new strategies would be adopted to foster an all-inclusive participation.

 

Some of the returned executive members included Aliyu Muhammad (Deputy Chairman), and Abubakar Zaki (Secretary).

 

Others were Muhammad Dangogo (Vice Chairman, Sokoto Central), Sule Magaji ( Vice Chairman, Sokoto South), and Hassan Rabah ( Vice Chairman, Sokoto East).

 

Other elected officers included Yahaya Ibrahim ( Treasurer),Nasiru Yahaya ( Financial Secretary), Hassan Sahabi Sanyinnawal (Publicity Secretary), and Chika Shuni ( Organizing Secretary).

 

The positions of Legal Adviser, Women Leader, Youth Leader and Auditor were also filled by Abdulrahman Abubakar, Zainab Nasir, Mustapha Binji and Nasiru Kware respectively among others.
