The Sokoto State government has approved three years Medium Term Expenditure Framework (M-TEF) 2025 to 2027.
The framework was approved during the 9th state executive council meeting presided over by Governor Ahmed Aliyu in Sokoto.
Briefing Journalists shortly after the council meeting, the commissioner of information, Sambo Bello Danchadi, said the documents have been transmitted to the state assembly for approval.
Danchadi noted that the council also approved N950 million for the completion of the 38-megawatts Independent Power Project (IPP) which was started by the administration of Former Governor Aliyu Wamakko in 2008 aimed at providing 24hrs electricity supply in the state.
He said the 30MW electricity project when completed, would rejuvenate economic and social activities across the state.
” The present administration consider it paramount to complete the project in view of the investment made so far and it’s relevance among citizens of the state,” he added.
He further disclosed that the council approved N222 million to rehabilitate Waziri Junaidu History Bereau, “which serves as a monument and tourist attraction site in the state”.
He also added that the council approved procurement of additional vehicles for Deputy Governor’s office in Abuja and security operatives to enhance their operations in the state.
Also speaking, the Commissioner for Land and Housing, Nasiru Dantsoho, said about N4.7 billion was approved by the council for reconstruction of Sultan Maccido Institute for Qur’anic and general studies roads network and other township roads in the metropolis of the state.
Similarly, the Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Professor Jabir Sani Maihulla, said about N1.9 billion was approved for renovation of six Juma’at mosque across the state.
