Sokoto Pilgrims Welfare Agency Begins Preparations for 2026 Hajj

The Chairman of the Sokoto State Pilgrims Welfare Agency, Alhaji Aliyu Musa says the agency has commenced preparations for a successful 2026 Hajj exercise.

Alhaji Musa made this known during a review meeting organised by the Agency to assess the successes and challenges of the last Hajj and to strategise for the pilgrimage.

According to a statement by the Head of Information and Communication of the agency, Faruku Umar, “the meeting also focused on mapping out strategies to ensure the smooth conduct of the 2026 Hajj exercise.”

He noted that the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), has announced provisional fare of ₦8.5 million for the 2026 Hajj seat, pending final negotiations on service contracts.

Alhaji Musa reiterated the Agency’s commitment to ensure the welfare and safety of pilgrims from Sokoto State participating in the 2026 Hajj.
