The Chairman of Solution FC, Chukwuma Ezeamama has called on the media and the private sector to support the Anambra State owned club’s campaign to progress from the Nigeria National League (NNL) to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Ezeamama made the call during a meeting between the management of Solution FC and leadership of the Anambra State chapter of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) in Awka, the State capital.
The Chairman said the dream of Anambra people to own a football club had been made reality by Governor Chukwuma Soludo after over 30 years, adding that every hand should be on deck to keep Solution FC alive.
“The essence of a state investing in sports and owning a football club in particular is not to make profit but to project the image of the state, that is why I want to thank Gov Soludo for giving Anambra this football Club,” Ezeamama said. “We are currently in the Nigeria National League.”
“Anambra is overdue to be the Nigeria Premier Football League. It may look difficult but it is possible that is why we are asking for all the help we can get. Promotion will surely happen. I want to thank SWAN for the interest they have shown in what we are doing.”
“And I want to assure you that we are ready to partner with you. I also want the people of Anambra to see Solution FC as a business they want to invest in or use to promote their businesses. But I admit that the club is also having challenges even from people from this state,” he added.
Ezeamama said the Anambra football team had come to stay and called on teeming football loving people of the state to come out and cheer their team at Awka Township Stadium and away games.
Chairman of Anambra State SWAN, Chimezie Anaso, commended Solution FC management for keeping the club competitive since it’s two years of existence. Anaso said the possible formation of a State club was the earliest conversation Soludo had with the media and commended him for making it a reality within his first year in office.
The SWAN Chairman pledged the commitment of the sports press in Anambra to partner Solution FC to ensure fans in Anambra and beyond become more aware of the club’s activities.
“As the media, we want to assure you that we will tell your stories, entertain enthusiasts, provide criticisms and keep you on your toes to ensure the people of Anambra get the best value out of this huge investment,” he concluded.
