South Africa to hand free football tickets to jabbed fans
The South African Football Association says it will hand out free tickets to vaccinated football fans attending next month’s World Cup qualifier between the national team Bafana Bafana, and Ethiopia.
It said fans who had been jabbed would be prioritised at matches and other entertainment events.
The South African government has been ramping up efforts to boost the vaccination rollout.
Only 10 million people have been inoculated against Covid-19 so far, and the government says this needs to reach 40 million for population immunity.
