South African Rand Gains Stability

South Africa’s rand was little changed early on Thursday ahead of domestic manufacturing data.

At 0633 GMT, the rand traded at 18.90 against the dollar, near its Wednesday closing level of 18.91.

Statistics South Africa is scheduled to publish the country’s manufacturing output (ZAMAN=ECI), opens new tab data for November at 1100 GMT, which could give signs of the health of Africa’s most industrialised economy.

South Africa’s benchmark 2030 government bond was slightly firmer in early deals, with the yield down one basis points to 9.09%.
