South East Governors to meet with President Tinubu

The South-East Governors have agreed to visit President Tinubu over the possible release of Nnamdi Kanu and other issues affecting the south east geopolitical zone of Nigeria.

The governors made the resolve with some stakeholders from the zone on Tuesday at the end of a meeting that lasted for about 10 hours in Enugu Government House

The governors also deliberated on the review of the report of south east security summit held in September 2023 and agreed to implement the aspect on the security and economic degradation of the region.

The Chairman of the the South East Governors forum and governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma disclosed this at the end of their meeting held at Government House, Enugu

He also hinted that the forum received a delegation of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, and former Secretary General of Commonwealth, Emeka Anyaoku, and the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe.

The forum  also announced  the  burial committee for former Minister of Science and Technology, late  Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu to  be headed by former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim while former minister of Transport, Rotimi Amechi will serve as secretary.

The meeting was attended by all the  five state governors of the zone, including Alex Otti of Abia, Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Charles Soludo of Anambra, Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi States the host governor, Mr Peter Mbah.
