Southern Governors Meet in Ogun to Deepen Regional Co-operation

Southern Governors have gathered in Ogun State for high-level talks on critical national matters affecting the region and the country at large.

The meeting aimed at ‘strengthening regional cooperation and collaboration across governance, traditional leadership, development and security.’

The timing of the meeting suggests a renewed push for regional coordination, bringing together political and traditional leadership to boost and foster more stability, consensus, and collective action across the South.

The Forum will also hold a joint engagement with the Southern Traditional Rulers Council. The session aims ‘to enhance collaboration between political leaders and traditional institutions, with discussions expected to focus on shared regional priorities.’

The meeting is expected to produce renewed commitments on regional security, economic integration, and development initiatives across the southern states.
