Speaker Describes Oil Discovery In Nasarawa State As Landmark Achievement

The Speaker, of Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Balarabe Abdullahi, says that the oil discovery in the State during the administration of Governor Abdullah Sule is a landmark achievement of his stewardship that will stand the test of time in the history of the State.

The Speaker stated this in Lafia while speaking on the inauguration of Govermor Sule for a second term and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The Speaker scored Governor Abdullahi Sule high on peace, security, and other developmental initiatives in the State.

He congratulated Governor Sule and President Tinubu on their inaugurations and wished them a successful tenure.

The Speaker said that Governor Sule’s achievements in the area of security, health, education, agriculture, transport,  infrastructure, and investment among others are tremendous, adding that the oil discovery in the State was a result of the Governor’s tireless efforts and a landmark achievement that will stand the test of time.

“His Excellency’sy experience in the oil and gas as well as his intensive lobby with the Federal Government led to the discovery of oil in Obi LGA of the State.

” The State will benefit from the 13 percent derivation once the oil exploration fully takes off in the State. 

” And this will bring more development to communities across the State,” he said.

The Speaker also said that the people of the State massively voted for Gov. Sule for the second term due to his tremendous achievements in almost all sectors of the economy.

“His Excellency, Governor Abdullahi Sule has done well in his first term as Governor, that was why the people of the State massively elected him for a second term in office. 

” Gov. Sule has brought peace, enhance unity, and development across communities of the State.

” His good policies and programs have a direct bearing on the lives of our people and improved our citizen’s welfare and we will continue to appreciate him for that,” the speaker noted.

At President Tinubu’s inauguration, the Speaker said that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have the capacity and experience to transform Nigeria and take the country to the next level of development.

“His Excellency, President Muhammadu Buhari has done his best in the last eight years, we have the hope that His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will continue from where the outgone President has stopped and he will address the developmental and other challenges facing the nation.

” Tinubu has done well when he was the Governor of Lagos State through transformation policies and programs and of course, Nigerians did not expect anything shorter than that.

“We hope that he will transform Nigeria, ensure peace, unity, and speedy development across the States of the Federation including FCT Abuja, ” he said.

The Speaker called on the people of the State and Nigeria at large to pray and support Gov. Sule and President Tinubu to succeed to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

He said every leader and government needs the support of her citizens to succeed, hence the need for his call in that direction.

The Speaker called on the people of the State and Nigerians at large to be law-abiding, respect constituted authorities,  live in peace, and unity, and tolerate one another irrespective of their affiliations.
