After fallen 2-1 to Remo Stars last week, Sporting Lagos will seek to bounce back with a home clash against Niger Tornadoes of Minna on Sunday.
They will look to use home advantage to take all three points and return to the top-half of the NPFL table.
This would be the fifth game of the campaign for the new league campaigners, but it represents a big chance to bounce back to reckoning.
“At last week’s game, even though we lost, the boys showed effort and desire. That effort and desire carried on to training this week. The reaction has been fantastic,” coach Paul Offor said.
“Training has been intense and really good. We’re well prepared ahead of the game,” he added.
With two wins in four games played, Niger Tornadoes will be looking for their first away points this season.

The Hamza Abara-led team have a decent recent history in Lagos, winning the last time they faced MFM FC in 2022.
But coach Offor said his wards will give everything to ensure victory.
“We haven’t been able to watch a lot of their games to get all the insight we need, but we know their style of play and are prepared to play them.”
Football analysts say the Minna-based team can take a queue from league debutants Doma United of Gombe – who forced the noisy Lagosians to a 0-0 draw two weeks ago.
It promises to be a tight contest.
