The Ministry of Niger Delta Development says the Performance Management System(PMS), has come to stay as a parameter for assessing civil servants for improved performance and productivity.

The Permanent Secretary Niger Delta Development, Dr Shuaib Belgore made this statement during a workshop for the management and staff of the Ministry.

The two-day workshop was organized in conjunction with the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation in Abuja.

“It is expedient to organize the workshop for Management and Staff of the Ministry as part of efforts to propel the Ministry towards the realization of the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (FCSSIP) 2021 – 2025, which was designed to galvanize the service into greater heights,” Dr Belgore said.

Dr Belgore reiterated that the Performance Management System is here to stay as the APER System has been abolished and henceforth PMS will be an important part of the promotion process.

The PMS is a tool that would be used in measuring, tracking and assessing civil servants’ performance at work.
