A stakeholder in Anambra state, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, has called on the Anambra State Governor, Charles Soludo to prioritize concrete actions against insecurity

In a press statement issued in Awka on Tuesday, Ejiofor, a lawyer and human rights advocate, expressed deep concern over the state of insecurity, which he described as under siege.

“The recent horrifying events in Ihiala serve as a stark reminder of the perilous situation our beloved state faces. The tragic loss of innocent lives to these unspeakable acts of violence fills me with profound grief and outrage,” he stated, emphasizing, “My heart bleeds!”

Ejiofor implored Governor Soludo to move beyond media narratives and confront the real perpetrators who are desecrating the land, labeling them as “monsters in human form” who thrive on the blood of innocents.

“This is a rallying cry for decisive and collective action. Our weakened state security apparatus cannot shoulder this burden alone. Every able-bodied son and daughter of Anambra must unite in a determined effort to eradicate these predators who exploit every opportunity to terrorize our communities and then retreat into the shadows,” he urged.

As the year draws to a close on this distressing note, he stressed the need for unwavering resolve, stating, “It is unacceptable to continue tolerating political compromises that endanger the lives of our people. We must question the value we place on human life and dignity.”

Ejiofor highlighted that the criminals are not strangers; they are often shielded by elements within the communities.

He called for the state to deploy all available resources to protect its citizens, asserting, “Anambra cannot be a safe haven for such heinous acts. The time for lip service is over.”

“Enough is enough. We must act now with unity, strength, and an unyielding commitment to reclaim our state from these evil forces. Together, we can restore the peace and security our people rightfully deserve,” he concluded.
