Health sector stakeholders have called for stronger collaboration with relevant authorities to ensure improved healthcare service delivery in Nigeria and across Africa.

This was the consensus at a health forum held in Lagos, organised by Nature’s Renaissance International (NRI).

Participants highlighted the urgent need for coordinated efforts to enhance healthcare quality across the continent

Nature’s Renaissance International is a leading healthcare company dedicated to improve the health through development of the health care solutions using African herbs

Speaking at the event, tagged ‘Next Level’, the Chief Executive Office of NRI, Prof. Clinton Brown said that the whole essence of the event is “to take Nigeria and Africa out of poor health, diseases and sickness and that in the last four years, the company has been a supportive tool to the government to further advance health services to the people.”

Brown explained that for the the nation and continent to forge ahead, there is need to look inward, believe in the potential it has and encourage local content and kill capital flight.

He said; “Today’s event is tagged ‘Next Level’, because in the last four years, we have achieved so much and we are trying to scale up to become household names that every African country will embrace, because looking at the whole lots of opportunities for us in this continent, there is hope for Africa.

“It’s about the message of hope, future and because of this, we say the future of Africa is now, It is possible to change Africa for good and it is possible to have the Africa of our dream.”

“I think there is a need for collaborations, because we cannot run Africa with foreign ideology, we should be able to develop and create our own Africa Ideology. As a matter of fact, this is Pan Africanism, we are Africa and we should live as so. There is no hope for Africa if we continue to live a borrowed life. It is only the African man that can change Africa.

“We should be able to develop our style of health care delivery and services, we are blessed in this continent, what we need to do is to collaborate with the government and agree with ourselves that God has blessed us with resources to make a change,” he said

Brown mentioned that priority must be given to capacity building that would improve people standard of living and raise their health status, stressing that every well meaning individuals must come on board to make this happen.

“A sick person has no business with wealth and a very hungry man has nothing to contribute to the development of the economy and if you think this is something that one man can do, it is impossible and that is why we need collaboration and awareness. We don’t need to put up a competition with the rest of the world let us accept and support our local content, let’s produce our medicine and all that we are blessed with, by the time we allow collaboration, more doors will be opened for our continent.” he added

Natural resources

One of the leaders of NIR in Lagos State, Mr Ikechukwu Egbo said that “it has become expedient to support local herbs to cure various illnesses as it comes with natural resources and ingredients that can fast track the healing process.”

Others at the event applauded the firm for promoting good health and creating wealth particularly considering the current economic challenges in the country.
