Stakeholders stress preserving cultural heritage amid globalization

Stakeholders have been urged to preserve, promote, and unite cultural heritage for the globalization of the community.

The Royal Father of Nasarawa Eggon, Aren Eggon, Justice Ahmed Ubangari rtd stated this at Galle Day 2024, in Galle, Nassarawa Eggon local government of the state.


He said that there is a need to sustain unity and peace among Eggon’s nationality.
The royal father who was represented by the Aren Eggon Erroh, Usman Hudu Makeri, applauded the Galle community for organizing the festival, saying, it would go a long way by sustaining egg-on culture among the younger generation, and the need for its sustainability.


He also called on the people of Galle, the State, and Nigerians to promote their culture and tradition for the overall development of the society.
Speaking, the president of, the Eggon Cultural Development Association (ECDA), Mr. Mandy Abuluya, commended the Galle people for organizing the Galle Day 2024 which is to promote unity and peace among the Eggons and others.
“I want to thank the organizers of this event. I want to thank you so much for organizing this event to bring our people and others together.”
“I am optimistic that the eggs are now 70% more united than before which is a great achievement”.
“I want to use this medium to call on Eggon nation and others to love each other, embrace unity and peace for the overall development of the state,” he said.


Meanwhile, Chairman Eggon Cultural Development Association (ECDA), Galle branch, Umar Abdullahi Galle, said Galle is globally recognized for promoting unity and cultural diversity, adding that this year’s edition was special with the theme: “celebrating our culture, honoring our heroes and building our future”,
Umar Galle said the 4th Galle Cultural Day is for the celebration of unity, and love, bringing together the sons, daughters, friends, and well wishes of the Galle community.
“On the proposed Galle House the association intends to construct a hall, and event center, a dream project initiated by our founding fathers to enhance the lives of our people and beyond”, Umar noted
Also speaking, the guest speaker, Dr. Vincent Paul (PhD), Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, Faculty of Administration, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, cultural heritage, as we will explore in detail, is a dynamic and evolving concept, influenced by historical, social, economic, political, and other environmental factors in and around our dear society.
Speaking on the topic “How to Preserve and Promote Our Cultural Heritage in The Face of Globalization and Modernization”, Dr. Paul said culture can be passed down across generations describing it as the totality of inherited customs, beliefs, traditions, practices, objects, artistic expressions, and values that are passed down from one generation to another within a specified existing community, society, or a family.
Voice of Nigeria reports that the highlights of the event were cultural display, award presentation, fundraising, and goodwill messages.
