State Security neutralises bandits in Kaduna

Troops of Operation Thunder Strike have neutralised two bandits along the Sabon Iche-Kagarko road of Kagarko Local government area of Kaduna State.

 

The troops laid an ambush along the route following credible intelligence on the bandits’ movement in the area. 

 

This was disclosed in a statement by the Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan in Kaduna. 

 

According to him, while attempting to invade the road for an operation, the bandits entered the killing zone and the troops opened fire and the bandits returned fire as they beat a hasty retreat. 

 

“After the fire-fight, the dead bodies of two bandits were retrieved by the troops, with the rest, suspected to have escaped with gunshot wounds while the troops suffered no casualties”, Aruwan said.

 

He further stated that, confirmation from local sources revealed that the bandits were indeed part of the notorious group terrorizing the area.

 

Governor Nasiru El-Rufai expressed his elation at the report and praised the troops’ gallantry and congratulated them for a successful expedition. 

 

The Commissioner gave assurance that aggressive patrols will continue in the general area. 

 

Meanwhile, communities around the area are advised to report individuals seeking medical attention for suspicious injuries as such reports can be forwarded via the Kaduna State security operation rooms on these phone lines:

He also warned citizens and locals not to harbour or provide medical aid to bandits with bullet wounds or they will also be charged as bandits.
