Steel Sector Remains Backbone Of Nigeria’s Economic Growth – Minister

The former Minister of State for Steel Development, Uba-Maigari Ahmadu, who as deployed as Minister of State, Ministry of Regional Development, says “the steel and metals sector, if properly harnessed, has great potential for the economic growth of the country.”
He stated this during a farewell ceremony organized by the Ministry’s Steel Development for him in Abuja the nation’s capital.
Ahmadu attributed his achievement as a Minister of State, Ministry of Steel Development to collaboration.
Mr. Ahmadu commended the Management and Staff of the ministry for their unflinching support in the 14 Months he spent as Minister of State of the Ministry..
He highlighted some of the programmes he initiated to include the on-going Registration for the Bootcamp Training Programme for Nigerian Youths among other initiatives.
The Minister of Steel Development, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar-Audu, described the outgoing Minister as “partner and a brother with whom he had a good working relationship”.
Prince Audu also noted that “the “big brother” relationship afforded him the opportunity to tap into his tremendous wealth of experience in Public Service.”
Also extolling the former Minister of State, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Chris Isokpunwu assured that “the Ministry will ensure that the objective of the Boot-Camp initiated by him would be realized and wished him well in his new assignment.”
