Sub-Saharan Africa: IMF projects 3.4% growth in economic activity in 2021
The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has projected economic activity in Sub-Saharan Africa to grow by 3.4% in 2021.
“In 2021, the region’s economy is expected to resume expansion at 3.4 percent, weaker than the 6 percent for the rest of the world, amid a continued lack of access to vaccines and limited policy space to support the crisis response and recovery,” according to the latest IMF’s Regional Economic Outlook.
