Subsidy Removal: Borno Governor begins distribution of palliatives

Following the announcement of the subsidy removal in Nigeria, the Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum has begun the distribution of palliatives to support less privileged persons in the state

Governor Zulum, who spoke to Journalists at the distribution ground said, We are here today at Muna garage in Jere Local Government in continuation of palliatives distribution of  food and none food items to displaced communities such as here in muna, we had in the last month distributed food and none food item’s in Gwoza local government, Baga, Doron Baga and Crus kauwa in Kukawa LGA.

He further stated that 8,300 women are to benefit from our none food items, of N5,000 cash plus 5 yard of wrapper to each of the 8,300 women, while 5000 heads of households both male and female will receive a bag of rice, and beans.

“Borno State government will make provision for 100,000 vulnerable people within Maiduguri and its environ to benefit from this exercise and 200,000 people will be carefully selected from among the 25 LGAs in the State, you may recalled that President Tinubu has declared State of emergency on food security.

“In compliance with Mr. President declaration the Borno State government had distribute palliative in Kukawa LGA and Gwoza and now in Muna under Jere Local Government, this distribution also includes the distribution of seedlings to the farmers, to be able to plant their  farms during this raining reason, the government will soon constitute the Borno State executive Council, but I have already given the approval for the distribution of relief items to 300,000 in the State.

We will soon unveil our plans in other to ease the cost of transportation to the people in cities and villages across the state,  I want to urge the people of Borno State to support President Tinubu’s administration which is very important because subsidy is not sustainable people will feel the impact for now, but is the near future it will be beneficial to all of us.
