Sunshine Stars Sack Coach Edith Agoye

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) club, Sunshine Stars FC, have sacked coach Edith Agoye following disappointing performances.

The decision comes after the team’s 1-0 defeat to Kwara United in the NPFL. Agoye was asked to step aside on Monday as a result of the team’s poor run, having won only one of their last seven NPFL matches.

Sunshine Stars are sitting in 12th position on the NPFL table with 22 points from 19 games.

Agoye led Sunshine Stars to the NPFL Super Six title playoffs last season but struggled to replicate the success in the current season.

The change in coaching staff at Sunshine Stars is viewed as a strategic move to address the team’s inconsistent performance and avoid relegation to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
