A group comprising 12 electoral wards of Lafia Local Government Area says the suspension of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Youth leader, Mohammed Masi, in Nasarawa state is in order and would serve as a deterrent to others.
It was alleged that the said youth leader conspired with other members of NNPP to physically assault some respected sons of the party and other prominent personalities at the meeting of the party in the presence of the state governor Abdullahi Sule.
It was also gathered that the youth leader conspired with others at large to carry arms and other dangerous weapons and went around the Lafia metropolis tearing and defacing all posters and campaign banners of governor Abdullahi Sule and his deputy Dr. Emmanuel Agwadu Akabe.
Speaking when addressing journalists in Lafia the state capital, the spoke person of the group Mr. Avery, said “the protests are in solidarity with the disciplinary measures taken by the chroma ward and called on the Local Government Area and the state chapter of the party to insist on sanity and to serve as deterrence to others who may wish to do same on our respected leaders”,
“Nobody is above the party however, highly placed such an individual may be, rules and regulations are meant to be obeyed and there should not be an exemption”,
” We will always be on alert to push out dishonest and barbaric individuals whose actions are meant to antagonize our great party”, he noted
He however passed a vote of confidence on Governor Abdullahi Sule for providing a dividend of democracy in the state.
