SW APC Youth Group Supports Mustapha as National Chairman

A group of youths within the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) christened, the Southwest Progressive Minds, has declared support for the emergence of Mallam Saliu Mustapha as the national chairman of the party.

The group said the call became imperative given the commencement of the congresses at the local levels, in preparation for the national convention that would produce the national executive to lead the party into the 2023 elections.

The leadership of the group in the Southwest met in Ibadan the capital city of Oyo State, over the weekend, to express their desire and declare their support for Mallam Mustapha as the next chairman of the party.

Explaining the decision to declare support for Mallam Saliu Mustapha to become the national chairman of the APC, the Oyo State Coordinator of the group, Mallam Adekunle Akande, said the party needed a reliable and competent person who could deliver come 2023, and Mustapha, being a youth, would use all his influence to ensure that the party produced the best candidate come 2023 and ensure that all the internal crises currently confronting the party become a thing of the past.

Akande stated: “Now that our delegates have emerged nationwide through a peaceful democratic congress held across the local government areas of the country, most of them are youths. So, I’m using this opportunity to charge members of the APC Progressive Minds across all the geo-political zones of our dear country to start educating and sensitising our delegates, who are going to represent our interest during the national convention, on the need for them to cast their votes for our man, Mallam Saliu Mustapha, who we believe can take us to the promised land.”

The Lagos State Coordinator, Abdulkarim Aramide, in his remark. said the APC needed someone capable, who would be able to go round all the geo-political zones of the country and who is ready to serve the party, as well as lead the party to a victorious destination.

Aramide noted: “Mallam Saliu Mustapha is a youth who knows and understands exactly what our youths want, and because our youths have been clamouring for youth inclusive in government, Mallam Mustapha is fit for the job.”

In his contributions, the Kwara State Coordinator, Ambassador Taiwo Adebayo, expressed optimism that Mallam Mustapha would produce a President that would make life more meaningful for Nigerians, while also appealing to political leaders and youths to work and support the aspirations of Mallam Mustapha, whom he described as the man that can deliver and restructure the party to achieve the best for the party.

Adebayo said: “At a critical time like this, we need a man that can bridge the gap, a man that can sue for peace, a man of integrity, who will produce the best candidate that Nigerians will be willing to vote for as their president. Mallam Saliu Mustapha is the man that can do the job, let us give him the maximum support needed for him to emerge.”

At the end of the meeting, all the state coordinators present unanimously appealed to all the party stakeholders on the need for them to embrace peace and order and rally around Mallam Saliu Mustapha in his aspiration to become the national chairman of the party.

Other leaders of the group at the meeting, which was held at the Group State Headquarters, Adamasingba Area, Ibadan, Oyo State, include: Adeleye Oluseye (Ondo), Mr Ademola Adedire (Ekiti), Comrade Hammed Isowo (Kwara), Abdulkarim Aramide (Lagos), Ibrahim Okedara (Ogun) and Muhammed Sulaiman, the Oyo State Secretary of the Progressive Minds.
