Nigerian table tennis star Bose Odusanya beat Anu Anjuwon 4-0 to retain the Molade Okoya-Thomas Cup women’s singles title for the ninth consecutive time, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, Nigeria.

Odusanya’s reign as the women’s singles champion dates back to 2015, showcasing her remarkable consistency and skill on the table.

Her latest triumph further solidifies her status as a force to be reckoned with in Nigerian table tennis.

In the men’s singles category, Muiz Adegoke staged a remarkable comeback to reclaim the title by beating Emmanuel Augustine 4-0 (12-10, 11-7, 13-11, 11-3) in the final.

Having secured his maiden title in 2021, Adegoke demonstrated exceptional skill and determination against Augustine to clinch victory.

Speaking at the end of the competition, an elated Adegoke described his win as compensation for missing the 2023 World Youth Championship in Slovenia.

“I am so happy that I have something to show for my efforts this year, especially after missing the WYC and I hope I can continue like this in the next tournament,” the national junior champion said.

The 55th Molade Okoya-Thomas Cup showcased the best of Nigerian table tennis talent, with Odusanya and Adegoke emerging as the reigning champions in their respective categories.

Competition sponsor, Deji Okoya-Thomas, lauded the players for their display, while promising a glamorous edition next year.
“We hope to make the tournament bigger next year by setting up an LOC that will be in charge of the whole event and we hope to make it more colorful,” Okoya-Thomas said.
