Tansian University Set to Graduate 414 Students at 13th Convocation

Tansian University, Umunya, Anambra State, is preparing to celebrate the achievements of its students at the upcoming 13th convocation ceremony, scheduled for March 29.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Eugene Nwadialor, announced at a press briefing on Tuesday that a total of 380 undergraduate and 34 postgraduate students will be graduating.
Professor Nwadialor highlighted that among the graduates, three students will receive first-class honors, while 136 will be awarded Second Class Upper Division. Additionally, 237 students will attain Second Class Lower Division and four will graduate with Third Class honors.
The postgraduate cohort includes three students earning diplomas and 31 completing their Master’s degrees across various departments.
The ceremony will also feature the conferral of honorary degrees to distinguished individuals, including Chief Sylvester Okonkwo, Chief of Staff to the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio; Igwe Alex Onyido, the Traditional Ruler of Ogidi; and Hon. Pius Okoye, Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly.
As part of its commitment to excellence, the university will offer automatic employment to the first-class graduates, along with prizes for outstanding performance across different faculties and departments.
In addition to the graduation ceremony, the university will host a public lecture on Artificial Intelligence and engage in various projects on March 28, 2025, including tree planting and the laying of foundations, as well as the commissioning and naming of new projects.
This development is part of a broader initiative that aims to raise N5 billion for infrastructural improvements, chaired by Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, a former House of Representatives member.
Professor Nwadialor emphasized Tansian University’s dedication to enhancing the educational experience through innovative teaching, research, and capacity-building initiatives.
This commitment aims to empower graduates to become employers of labor and to foster an improved academic environment for both teaching staff and students.
