Tanzania’s President Appoints New Central Bank Governor

Tanzania’s President Samia Suluhu Hassan has appointed Emmanuel Tutuba as the nation’s central bank governor, in a move to tackle the rising cost of living.

 

Tutuba, who has been working as permanent secretary in the Finance Ministry, replaces Florens Luoga after his term expired.

 

A statement from the president’s office said the appointment takes immediate effect.
