Taraba State Governorship Primary Re-run: APC Commences Accreditation of Delegates

The All Progressives Congress (APC), Taraba state chapter, North-east Nigeria, has commenced the accreditation of delegates for the governorship primary re-election in the state.

It would be recalled that the Supreme Court had on 1st February 2023 nullified the primary election that brought in Senator Emmanuel Bwacha as the APC governorship candidate and ordered a fresh primaries in the state within ten days.

The re-run primary election which was slated for 10th February 2023 began in Jalingo, the Taraba state capital with 840 delegates from the 16 local government areas undergoing accreditation.
Earlier, the returning officer of the re-election, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai (RTD), while addressing the delegates, promised that the process will be free and fair and urged them to be law-abiding through out the process.
VON’s correspondent reported that most of the other aspirants boycotted the process, leaving only Senator Emmanuel Bwacha going for the re-run primary election.
