Taxation Benefits: CITN to Sensitise Youth Corps members

The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria has requested for a Memorandum of Understanding with the National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC) to sensitise corps members on its activities and benefits of taxation to national economy.
This was disclosed by the President of Chartered Institute of Taxation in Nigeria, Mr Adesina Adedayo when he led other members of the institute on a courtesy visit to the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Muhammad Fadah in his office in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
Adesina stated that the institute is  committed to ensuring the professionalism in the standard of tax administration and practice in Nigeria.
According to him,  the institute which was established in 1982 and Chartered in 1992 to regulate tax administration in the country is ready for capacity building for Corps Members and NYSC Officials.
The CITN boss, who congratulated General Fadah on his appointment as the 19th Chief Executive of NYSC also commended him for his visionary leadership for the Scheme since assuming duty.
“We are over the years involved in the provision of manpower needs of the Nigerian tax system through certification and continuous capacity development of tax professionals,” he said.

He described the Scheme as a critical stakeholder with which the institute can provide an alternative career path for graduate youths.
General Muhammad Fadah in his remarks commended the institute for its professional contributions to the development of taxation in Nigeria.
He lauded the institute for training more than fifty NYSC Officials in various programmes.
The Director General promised that the symbiotic relationship between NYSC and CITN would continue to wax stronger.
He also said the request from the CITN would be looked into for the benefit of Corps Members.
