Team Nigeria has won 11 Medals at the African Military Games Taekwondo event. Nine gold plus five other medals camd from the Poomsae events.
Some of the gold medallists include Mohammed Yusuf (men’s 54kg), Rejoice Bisalla (women’s -46kg), Chinenye Ibeh (women’s -49kg) and Glory Anam (women’s -53kg).
Daniel Alexander settled for Silver in the men’s -58kg class while Alassa Aminu secured a Bronze medal in the men’s -63kg category.
The overall medals table see Nigeria tops the medals table with a total of 64 medals including 34 gold, 16 silver, and 14 bronze medals.
Algeria is in second position with 24 medals, while Tunisia, with nine medals, sits in third place so far on the table.
BASKETBALL
Nigeria also won gold and silver in the men’s and women’s Basketball events, at the ongoing Africa Military Games in Abuja with the men wining gold in a walkover against Cameroon.
The female team, on the other hand loss to Cameroon, with 86-47 points.
