Tech entrepreneur urges youth to embrace agritech
The Managing Director of Greysoft Technologies, Isah Rafael, has called on young people to harness agriculture, saying it is a lucrative sector that can improve their lives while granting financial freedom.
The MD, who made this known in an interview ,stated that agriculture can now be approached in an innovative way through the use of technology.
According to him, young people can address the issue of food security by integrating technology with agriculture, adding that organisations like his support agricultural innovation.
“Youth, this is a call to you to come back let’s do agriculture in a fun and cool way; Instead of doing yahoo this is what to do. there is money in agric, align with us and we will guide you,” he said.
Rafael noted that his company, in partnership with the Kaduna State Ministry of Agriculture, Business Innovation and Technology, had organised the Kaduna Agritech Conference 2025, targeting young people with innovative ideas in agriculture.
He stated that one of the key objectives of the conference was to encourage youth participation in farming.
He explained that over 500 young people applied for the Agritech boot camp, out of which 50 were selected, and only 10 participants made it to the final stage.
He said the 10 finalists pitched their ideas during the conference for a prize of an N2 million grant, with one emerging as the winner.
He added that the money would help the winner develop their start-up, while the top three would be incubated with a funding institute and trained on how to become investment-ready.
The Kaduna state agritech Conference 2025 was held on 27 February with the theme Year-Round Agriculture.
