The Minister of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani, has called on youths involved in technology and innovation to remain steadfast and believe in their potential, assuring them that better days lie ahead.

Tijani made the call on Thursday in Enugu while addressing participants of the 3 Million Technical Talents (3MTT) programme, an initiative under the National Information Technology Development Agency’s (NITDA) Digital Literacy for All (DL4ALL) Initiative.

The minister’s engagement with the youths followed his visit to several Enugu State Government-led tech-innovation projects, including the Green Smart Schools, Command and Control Centre, International Conference Centre, and Café One (Digital Café), among others.

Applauding the dedication and hard work of the 3MTT participants, Tijani encouraged them to persist in their efforts to achieve success in their personal and collaborative projects.

“One thing is certain—I want you to continue, persevere, and believe in yourselves. In a short while, the sky will be your limit, as you will receive all the necessary support,” he assured.

He highlighted the Federal Government’s commitment to empowering young Nigerians through technology, aligning with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“There is a lot being done to reposition Nigerian youths in tech innovation under the Renewed Hope Agenda, and our ministry is pushing this agenda with zeal.

“Using you people here today, we believe that millions of Nigerians, especially young people in the South-East and Enugu State, will gain essential skills for leveraging digital platforms.

“So, I encourage you to keep up the good work, stay focused, and know that both the Federal Government and your tech-driven governor are keen on seeing you lead the 21st-century digital economy,” Tijani stated.

To further motivate the participants, the minister donated cash and laptops to some of the youths, describing the gesture as a way to sustain their passion and drive.

In his remarks, Dr. Lawrence Ezeh, Enugu State Commissioner for Innovation, Science, and Technology, commended the Federal Government for launching a programme set to transform the lives of many young people.

Ezeh, who also donated a laptop to one of the students, described the Federal Government’s plan to train over one million Enugu residents in digital skills within three years as a game-changer for the state’s economy.

Speaking on the impact of the programme, Ms. Ozioma Michael, a 3MTT participant, said the initiative had reshaped her mindset towards digital enterprise.

“Since I started the programme and upscaled my skills in digital literacy, I now see reasons why I should become a techpreneur and grow my own innovative tech brand,” she said.

Another participant, Mr. Chukwunonso Gabriel, expressed appreciation to the ministry and NITDA for giving his life a new direction and connecting him with like-minded individuals.

“Within the short time I have spent in the programme, I have learned a lot and discovered the vast opportunities in digital enterprise and technology-driven engagements,” he said.
