While performing in London, Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Tems revealed that she has more music on the way, including a highly anticipated second studio album scheduled for release in 2026.

This announcement is a welcome development for fans who have been eagerly awaiting new material from the acclaimed artiste following the commercial success of her debut album, Born in the Wild, released in 2024.

The news followed closely on the heels of her receiving the prestigious Billboard Diamond Award at the Billboard Global Power Players event, which also recognised Nigerian rap icon Olamide.

Tems’ Billboard honour further cements her global standing, particularly in the United States, where she remains one of Africa’s most successful musical exports.

She recently earned another RIAA Gold certification for her single Love Me Jeje, which has now surpassed 500,000-unit sales in the US. This adds to four previous RIAA certifications, reinforcing her status as one of the most certified Nigerian artists internationally.

Love Me Jeje, one of her most successful releases to date, also won her a second Grammy Award for Best African Song Performance at the 67th Grammy Awards.

Tems’ growing international influence was also on display at the 2025 MET Gala, where she was one of the high-profile attendees. On the red carpet, she used the opportunity to spotlight African music beyond Afrobeats, noting that other genres from the continent have the potential to break into the global mainstream just as Afrobeats has done.
