Tems Wows South Africa with Sold-Out Concert

Nigerian international superstar Tems captivated fans during the South African leg of her ‘Born In The Wild’ concert.

Performing at the newly opened Dome in Nasrec, Johannesburg, which accommodates 6,000 people, Tems delivered a stunning showcase of her hit songs.

She further delighted fans with an engaging meet-and-greet session on the sidelines of the concert.

South Africa marks the first African stop on Tems’ Born In The Wild tour following the cancellation of her Kigali, Rwanda show.

The singer announced the cancellation on her X account on January 30, a decision that has been widely praised by fans in both South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

In her post, the Grammy-winning artist explained that she had promoted the Kigali concert without being aware of the ongoing tensions between Rwanda and the DRC.

 

The 29-year-old star apologized if her actions seemed insensitive to the political climate and expressed her support for those affected by the conflict.

Tems’ ongoing world tour follows the release of her debut album Born In The Wild, which earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Global Album.

2025 has been a whirlwind year for the singer, who secured her second Grammy Award for Best African Song Performance at the 67th ceremony.

She also recently took the stage at the O2 Arena for the unveiling of Aston Martin’s new car for the 2025 F1 season, further cementing her status as one of Africa’s biggest stars on the global stage.
