Christmas:Niger State Felicitates With Christians

Niger state government in North Central Nigeria has felicitated with millions of Christians in the state as a means of celebrating Christmas.

A statement issued by the Commissioner of Information and Strategy Niger State, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Idris noted that “The celebration of Christmas is not specifically about the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ but the spirit of love and giving celebrated among all faiths.”

The Commissioner who expressed joy with the citizens of the state for the grace of God to witness yet another Christmas period during the administration of Governor Abubakar Sani Bello who is working tirelessly to maintain peace and unity in the state, adding that, “we should collectively fight the criminals amongst us as well as collectively show gratitude to God for His ceaseless mercy and love to mankind.”

He stated that over the months, the government has been confronted with challenges “but thank God for the relative peace and tranquillity owing to the efforts of security agents and prayers of the people which indicate a ray of hope for a peaceful and better Niger state.”

Christians all over the state should mark this year Christmas with so much joy and excitement as their is a better hope for a brighter future.”

“It is paramount for all citizens to emulate  love, spirit of brotherhood as demonstrated to mankind by replicating same to their neighbours during this season,” Alhaji Idris stated.

The Niger State Commissioner for Information and strategies however urged all citizens to preach the message of peace and good neighborhood as they set to enter the new year with the assurance that the year 2022 would be a greater year.
