The Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa has described the ability of the late Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja to inspire those around him as unparalleled.
He stated this in a remark at the final interment of the Late Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja at the National Military Cemetery, Abuja where he was laid to rest on Friday, 15th November 2024.

The Defence Chief said Lieutenant General Lagbaja exemplified the finest ideals of military service: duty, honor, and distinguished himself as a soldier’s soldier, a visionary strategist, and a compassionate leader.
“Today we lay to rest a true soldier, a general and officer who symbolized the best of his profession and whose commitment to the nation he loved was singular and undiluted, for me, he was a trusted advisor whose formidable intellect and breadth of knowledge served this nation well
“May the courage with which General Lagbaja served now shine forth in each and every one of us. While we are saddened by his passing, we still celebrate his life. Thus, we must rededicate ourselves to the principles and love of a nation for which he stood. On this day, we pay tribute to the General whose story of illustrious service will be told for generations to come.”
General Musa equally applauded his unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and ensuring the security of citizens.
