Tinubu has democratic integrity to become Nigeria’s President- Spokesperson

The APC Presidential Campaign Council spokesperson, Festus Keyamo, says the Presidential Candidate of the governing All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Bola Tinubu, has the democratic integrity and credentials to become Nigeria’s next president.
Keyamo, also Nigeria’s Minister of State for Labour and Employment, stated this at the unveiling ceremony of the group, The Progressives Forum, TPF, in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
According to Mr. Keyamo, Tinubu has stayed dedicated to his political ideals over time, which led to the formation of another alternative political party for Nigerians.
“Without Asiwaju, we would not have a multi-party democracy today. He was one man standing. He has earned it. If you were wise enough, recall that 2003 was the turning point in Nigeria’s democracy. That was when the PDP wiped out all the states in the South, they fought everybody off, but Asiwaju fought back and kept Lagos.
“It takes a strong character like Asiwaju to resist the onslaught of the PDP. It was from Lagos that he stretched his hands over the Niger for us to have the APC today; otherwise, Nigeria would have been a one-party state by now. It would have been only PDP today and no other party. This is the truth.
“It takes his strength of character to achieve this. Asiwaju has kept his principles, integrity, focus, and consistency. It is now his turn -Emi Lokan,” Keyamo said.
The Minister also said the APC-led administration had made a lot of progress in agriculture and food security, Infrastructural Development, Macroeconomic stability Development of manufacturing industries–emphasis on (SMEs), Social Development, Human Capital Development, and capacity development using technology.
“The APC administration inherited a budget of 5 trillion naira and had grown it to 16 trillion naira by 2021. The 2020 budget was funded 100%, while 85% was used to fund the agric budget for 2021.
“Nigeria has today moved from sole dependency on oil revenues to non-oil revenues, which constituted 70% of the budget before, to now non-oil revenues making up 65% of the budget,” he added.
The group, TPF, led by former acting youth leader of the APC, Ismaeel Ahmed, was formed with the focus of mobilising support across the country for APC’s Presidential election in 2023.
