Jibrin, a former Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Appropration has been at the fore front campaign for Tinubu’s presidential ambition, with much emphasis on the need to rotate the presidential seat to the South where Tinubu hails from.

Some said he may have been angered by the plethora of northerners vying for the presidency under the governing APC against his perception.

Jubrin who is currently serving as a director with the Federal Housing Authority, lost his re-election bid in 2020.
