“Tinubu’s Emergence Has Further Entrenched Democracy” – Gombe State Campaign Coordinator

The campaign coordinator of the Tinubu-Shettima Campaign Council in Gombe state, Dr. Jamilu Isiyaku Gwamna, has congratulated President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu, saying his emergence has further entrenched democracy in Nigeria.

Speaking with journalists in Gombe, Dr. Gwamna said the All Progressives Congress (APC) was grateful to God for the victory as well as the support of all those who voted for the party during the last February 25 Presidential Election.

He described the election as showcasing the power of the youths in Nigeria’s democracy and their role in nation-building.

“And this is a very good moment for Nigeria, and we are thankful and grateful for that.

“I am highly honoured and proud of the outcome of the election.

“However, I urge aggrieved persons to embrace peace, so as to join hands with the winning team and build Nigeria because without peace there will be no Nigeria.

“So, we need to embrace peace and respect each other’s beliefs and party affiliation, because what united us is more than what divided us,” said Dr. Gwamna.

He particularly thanked the people of Gombe state for the support given to the party during the presidential election, appealing to them for more support in the next gubernatorial election on March 11, 2023.

“I will like to solicit and ask the good people of Gombe state, regardless of party affiliation to come out en masse and vote for Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, the candidate of the APC in Gombe state, to ensure that we have continuity in the governance of Gombe state,” Dr. Gwamna appealed.

On whether the APC had a chance of winning the election, going by the result of the February 25 Presidential and National Assembly Elections, where the majority of votes went to the People’s Democratic Party, Dr. Gwamna said he was confident of Governor Yahaya winning because of his personality.

He explained that the votes cast were based on the individual personality of the people:

“The presidential candidate of the PDP is from the North-east and Senator Tinubu got over 30% of the votes because he had people who equally believed in him.”

According to him, the personality of candidates will be at play during the governorship election and because the incumbent governor has what it takes to lift the state to the next level of development and peaceful cohesion, he is confident of the people of Gombe state voting for him.

“So, I assure you that the people of Gombe state will come round and vote for a candidate and I believe that candidate is Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya,” said Dr. Gwamna.
