SERGIO RAMOS SET FOR PSG
Sergio Ramos has agreed to join French football side Paris St Germain (PSG) on a two-year deal. The Spanish legend has been available on a free transfer after his contract expired with Real Madrid.
Multiple clubs from around Europe were interested but PSG won the race for his signature. Ramos will bring much needed steel into the heart of PSG’s defence as the Parisians had a poor campaign in the 2020/21 Ligue 1 season. They missed out on the Ligue 1 title as Lille were crowned French champions.
The Spain captain has left Real Madrid after 16 years with Los Blancos, during which he lifted the UEFA Champions League on four occasions.
Ramos, 35, failed to reach an agreement on a new contract at the Santiago Bernabeu following a stand-off with club president Florentino Perez.
MANCHESTER UNITED’S DREAM LINE-UP WITH JADON SANCHO AND RAPHAEL VARANE
Manchester United have agreed a deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund and it is believed Ole Gunnar Solskjear is keen on a new centre-back, as a have but sights on Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
The England international finally sealed his long-awaited switch to Old Trafford from Dortmund. The confirmation that United have agreed a £72.9million deal to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund arrived on July 1 and that move will be finalised once England’s involvement in Euro 2020 is over.
Sancho will begin pre-season at Carrington, rather than back in Germany waiting for a transfer to be finalised. As soon as the Sancho deal was confirmed, talk around a move for Raphael Varane intensified.
Varane, 28, would be another significant statement of intent to compete with Manchester City for the Premier League title next season. The French defender established himself as one of the world’s best defenders since joining Real Madrid from French side Lens in the summer of 2011.
He has gone on to make over 350 appearances for the club, and has been capped 79 times by France, helping them to World Cup glory in 2018. Varane started all four of France matches at Euro 2020 tournament before they were knocked out Switzerland.
COUTINHO’S POSSIBLE RETURN TO LIVERPOOL
Philippe Coutinho’s big money move to Barcelona hasn’t worked out and the Catalans are looking to sell the Brazilian playmaker.
According to reports, Coutinho would be keen on a return to Liverpool and coach Jurgen Klopp would also be open to such a transfer.
However, Brendan Rodgers at Leicester is keen to reunite with the player with whom he enjoyed great times when he was the Liverpool coach.
ATLETICO MADRID EYE SHOCK OUSMANE DEMBELE MOVE
Atletico Madrid are reportedly interested in signing Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele by Barcelona this summer.
Ousmane Dembele’s list of admirers has seen one prospective suitor drop out with another emerging in his pursuit in the summer transfer window. Atletico Madrid are considering a shock move for the French forward.ALE
Ousmane Dembele has made 118 appearances for Barcelona, raking in a tally of 30 goals and 21 assists to show for his efforts. However, Dembele continues to be rated quite highly at Camp Nou, with Barcelona eager to tie him down to a new contract as his current deal expires in a year’s time.
Such an uncertain situation around his future has gotten the interest of Atletico Madrid.
ALEXANDER ISAK SIGNS REAL SOCIEDAD CONTRACT EXTENSION UNTIL 2026
Sweden and Real Sociedad striker Alexander Isak has signed a contract extension at the Spanish La Liga outfit, taking his deal through to 2026.
The 21-year old has impressed with his domestic form over the past two seasons and further dazzled potential suitors with a promising showing at Euro 2020 with Sweden.
Many of Europe’s top clubs have been linked to the striker, including the likesof Liverpool, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Barcelona. However, such clubs’ hopes of signing the player anytime soon have been somewhat dented, with Real Sociedad announcing a contract extension.
“Real Sociedad and Alexander Isak have agreed to the extension of the player’s contract, which ties him to the club until June 30, 2026,” a Real Sociedad statement read.
